As we all know, all progressive communities need volunteers. Volunteering at an young age for the community inspires the young minds to become responsible citizens in the society. The community involvement gives such young volunteers a better and realistic outlook and attitude.  Tom was involved in community projects, right from his school days. Whilst at the university, he was actively involved in the students union movement, the debating society and the national service scheme. Albeit, Tom Aditya started his career in banking and progressed forward as a qualified financial advisor, management consultant and a company director, the community issues were always close to his heart.

The human rights and equalities campaign at the South Glos Council Equalities Forum, the blood & organ donation campaign among the ethnic minorities in Bristol and other parts of the UK, the signature campaign to the Police Chief against burglary misdemeanours in Bradley Stoke, the campaign for a full fledged post office at the Bradley Stoke's new town centre, the 'Bradley Stoke in Bloom' project, the appeal in favour of better public transport links for the town and many such social initiatives came out from such thoughts and discussions. The town's 'faster fibre-optic broadband campaign' in 2010 instigated him to volunteer more actively for the community. His sincere involvement and dedication prompted the people to later nominate him to become a Councillor.

Currently, Councillor Tom Aditya heartily engages with various activities of the community in a variety of ways. The list is pretty exhaustive and includes the NHS Blood & Organ donation campaign, the West of England Integrated Community Transport Network, the Autistic society, the Alzheimer's group, the Family Counselling service, the Cancer Research Aid charity, Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club, the Fair Trade movement, the Citizens Advice Bureau, Health Watch, Business Forum, Public Transport Forum, South Glos Engage Festival, Safer & Stronger Community Partnership, the Bradley Stoke Radio, Bradley Stoke Festival, Bradley Stoke Carnival, Britain in Bloom, Three Brooks Conservation Group, Jubilee Green volunteer’s group, Bradley Stoke Library committee, Local History Group, Save Filton Airfield campaign, Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club, Bristol 10k Marathon, HM Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, Racial Equality Network, organisations like Stand Against Racism and Inequality and many more. In addition to these, he spearheads various socio-cultural organisations and community movements. He thus contributes to various streams of the society, admirably.

Tom strongly raises his opinion on human rights and equalities issues. He also focuses on topics and programmes related to community safety, youth empowerment, poverty eradication, health care, holistic lifestyles, education, scientific research, public transportation, humanitarian issues, organic farming, ecological conservation, non-conventional energy, information technology, blood & organ donation campaign, community cohesion, social values,  social security, social welfare and community activities.
